How do I block or unfriend a user?
If you no longer want to communicate with a user, you have two options: Unfriend or Block. Here are the differences and how to do both.
What is the difference between Unfriend and Block?
- Unfriend: Removes the user from your Chat list and deletes your chat history. However, you may still see them in the Match screen later.
- Block: Completely prevents the user from contacting you or seeing your profile on Langmate. You will never be able to match with them again. Note: Blocking cannot be undone.
How to Unfriend a User
- Open your Chat with the user you want to unfriend.
- Tap the Menu icon (three dots) in the top right corner.
- Select Unfriend and confirm your choice.

You can block a user directly from their profile or your chat screen:

- Tap the Menu icon (three dots) in the top right corner.
- Select Block (or Report & Block) and confirm.
If you feel the user has violated our Community Guidelines, we recommend reporting them as well. For more details, please see our guide on how to report a user.

- Scroll through your Friends list and tap the Menu icon (three dots) to the right of the user you want to block.
- Tap Block.
